From sassy evening gowns to menswear-inspired pieces, students and staff from the Fashion Design and Apparel Production Program at MC College Winnipeg showcased their final collections at the New Designers Fashion Show. The show, held at The Asper Centre for Theatre and Film on the University of Winnipeg campus, was sold out to an audience of family, friends and prominent members in Manitoba’s fashion industry.
In attendance were Angela Vogt Schellenberg and Elayna Bilous from Black Caviar Productions, who tweeted during the show, “MC College show was excellent!! Congrats to all the grads!”
Charizabel Dizon, a fashion blogger who also attended, featured the New Designers Fashion Show in her latest blog post: http://dizonizabell.wordpress.com/2013/09/28/new-designers-2013-2014/
The graduates: Jo-Anna Wells, Kari Manty, Wilma Winberg, Melanie Wrob, Olabimpe Ofime and Victoria Kakuktinniq watched in anticipation as models strutted across the runway; showcasing their year’s worth of dedication and hard work.
Every year, graduates design, create and present their final collections in a run-way show and are given the opportunity to network with staff at MC College, local designers and fashion bloggers.
