IMG_2786.PNG

From blue to unicorn coloured hair, this student has coloured his hair every color that exists! Our December Student of the Month goes out to Hairstyling student, 👉 Skylar Bakes 👈, from the Kelowna campus. He is a proud Transgender Student who supports the LGBT community as well as supports local agencies that help refugees and newcomers.

Why did you choose Hairstyling as a career?
“When I was younger, I wanted to colour my hair bright green but I had hair down to my knees and my mother said no! Since then, I’ve been cutting and colouring my hair all kinds of colours on my own…In 2013, I got the opportunity to do a work experience at High Fidelity Hair. The owner really encouraged me to go down this road!”
